Orchard House- Sims 4 version of the Little Women House
Updated: Oct 5
I made a Sims 4 version of Orchard House, the famous home of Louisa May Alcott, the writer of Little Women. I have always loved the book Little Women and when the most recent movie came out, I absolutely adored it. I have always liked historical sims gameplay, so I decided that I am going to make my own Sims 4 Little Women challenge and so I made the house ready for the March girls!
For the challenge, I am turning Brindleton Bay into 1860s Concord... which is the best we can do for a historical neighborhood in Sims 4. This lot works best on the Hindquarter Hideaway lot. I used reference images of the real Orchard House to make this build, but they are mostly of the exterior. The interior is a mish-mash of some things I saw in stills of the sets of the various adaptations with a healthy dose of my own imagination. This is for my challenge of a fictional version of a real house, so historical accuracy was not what we were going for. Also I didn't give the parents a bedroom because I don't intend to play with the parents for my challenge. Sorry, Marmee. Here is a reference image of the real house, which you can visit today! Once Quarantine is over, I would love to go.
This is a no CC build and you can find it on the Sim4 gallery as Orchard House by BeccaTownSims!
There is also a speed build on my Youtube (click here) where you can see me build the house and chat a little bit about the interesting history of the Alcott family, most notably the 1840s commune that Amos Bronson Alcott (Louisa May's dad) decided to start with some of his transcendentalist buddies. It didn't go well.
